James Gunn introduced “CREATURE COMMANDOS” before he took over DC

Synopsis

It follows a group of military superheroes consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, a Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn himself gave the green light to the project when he became the CEO of DC Studios. The writer and creator of the series James Gunn appears in the opening credits with a laptop writing a script. He is cast in Crazy Cartoon Cast: The Return of the King (of the Hill) (2023) by AniMat.

universe is promising and welcome

The story makes you care about the characters and the animation is top-notch. Speaking of animation, the new “Tomorrow-verse” animation looked very cheap and flat, with no life in the animation style or stories. D.C. AU great stories like Under the Red Hood, Justice League: Dark, and Superman: Doomsday set the standard for quality comic book animation.

The art style is fun, vibrant, and well-drawn

I collected all the animated films from that era and I wasn’t interested in the Tomorrow-verse because of the lazy writing and lazy art. But Creature Commandos is a return to form for quality animation. I’m already interested in the characters and the story is interesting. James Gunn is starting this universe off on the right foot and making his upcoming projects highly anticipated.

The new Superman movie is definitely on my watchlist
