A landman, at least one who works in the oil industry, acts as a middleman between exploration companies and landowners. Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners who hold mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Essentially, they manage the land and secure leases so they can drill for oil and gas.

They are well written and entertaining

Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, housing for workers (man camps), assemble excavators, and drill the wells themselves, especially in remote locations. They are also part fixer, problem solver, and facilitator. Referenced on CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode 44.24 (2022). I’m obviously a fan of Taylor Sheridan’s shows.

That’s outrageously gratuitous

I’m happy to watch anything that has his brand attached to it at this point. But what’s with the girl in her underwear and her creepy sexualization? It’s very strange how obnoxious he is with it. It’s almost such a long turn off that I don’t want to watch.

The ex-wife is just ugggh

I’m invested in the story so far. I also don’t understand why the woman is so unlikable. It’s really a head scratcher. Is the show geared towards drawing only men?

I love Billy Bob

He’s always a plus.
